The Tamina Gorge is located in the canton of St. Gallen. Near Bad Ragaz. From the Tamina spring the water rises with 36.5 degrees. During the last 15000 years the river has carved itself into the rock. Experience and discover nature.

Start your hike from Bad Ragaz to the Tamina Gorge. The path is very easy to walk. During the four kilometres you listen to nature and water. You can also take the post bus. At selected times, the Rössliposcht is operating. This can also be booked individually for groups.

7000 litres of water per minute correspond to 46 bathtubs

Once in the gorge you will feel the power of the water. From the spring flows 7000 litres per minute. A bathtub can hold about 150 litres. This corresponds to 46 full bathtubs per minute. The narrow crevice is 70 meters deep and 750 meters long. Wind your way past the gorge and feel the spray.

Oldest baroque bath in Switzerland - Altes Bad Pfäfers

Arrived in the Tamina Gorge, you can also discover the oldest baroque bath in Switzerland. The medicinal spring was discovered as early as 1240. However, the spring only achieved real fame in the 16th century. This was based on a report by the physician Paracelsus. He stayed there for some time as a spa doctor. Since 1840 the thermal water has been led to Bad Ragaz. The world health resort Bad Ragaz was born.
