For more than 60 years the world's best ski racers have been competing against each other at the legendary World Cup race in Adelboden. The otherwise so tranquil Swiss mountain village in the Bernese Oberland is in a state of exception. The Alpine Ski World Cup in Adelboden is one of the most atmospheric races in Switzerland. And takes place this year on 11 and 12 January 2020.

Above Adelboden is the area with the finish line of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup. This is where the cheering crowd awaits the fearless and courageous ski racers. But also along the course and on tribunes in the middle of the ski area, around 40,000 enthusiastic ski fans are thrilled. This is why ski racing in Adelboden is one of the most popular races in the world. At the same time the downhill is the most difficult giant slalom course of the Men’s World Cup.

The Friday of the race weekend begins with a show programme and a warm-up party. Just like it should be for a real ski circus. The men’s giant slalom starts at 1730 m above sea level and is 1430 m long. Traditionally, the giant slalom is held on Saturday before the best slalom skiers compete on Sunday. As soon as the ski race at Chuenisbärgli is history, the troop moves to the next World Cup village in Wengen. Because one week later, the Lauberhorn Race in Wengen is another legendary ski race in Switzerland.

One of the most famous songs, the "Vogellisi" song, is about Adelboden and the legend surrounding the Mytos Vogellisi.
